Water Retailer Contract Procurement

PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To procure a retailer for the supply of water, waste water for the corporate, including traded school & academy portfolios for the new council from 01 April 2023.  The replacement contract will include the existing NYCC water meter points and the water meter points from the seven boroughs and districts which will be brought into the new supply contract as their existing contracts end.

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The current NYCC water retailer contract is with Business Stream Scotland, provided via a framework contract with YPO, which expires on the 31 March 2023.

The new water retailer contract will commence from the 01 April 2023.

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

A Gateway report will be considered in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules.

This is a key decision.  The water retailer contract was entered on the forward plan in July 2022.
